Day 9: Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole, WY

It's Sunday morning in Salt Lake City and it's the perfect time catch a live broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The program, "Music and the Spoken Word" is one of the longest continuous running radio-network broadcasts in the world. Today's show was number 4,580! This famous choir has 360 members and performs all over the world.

The Grand Western Tour crew dressed up in their Sunday best and presented themselves like young ladies and gentlemen at Tabernacle Square. We were just one group of many in the Conference Center that can hold a whopping 21,000 people. The crew enjoyed the beautiful orchestra music and singing and were impressed by all of the details that go into the 29 minute production. There were 7 songs total, including "It Is Well With My Soul" which was a familiar tune to many.

After hearing the choir, we loaded the bus and headed for Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Along the way, we stopped in Logan, Utah for a bite to eat and a Walmart run. Every year, the Grand Western Tour has a volleyball tournament at the ranch and the teams used this time to shop for their uniforms. Here's a sneak peak- there will be more to come at the ranch!

A little further down the road we took a break near Bear Lake which spans from Utah into Idaho. The lake is often referred to as the "Caribbean of the Rockies," according to a man at the rest stop. It is about 109 square miles and is the bluest of blues. Pictures certainly don't do it justice.

We arrived in Jackson Hole just in time to find some dinner and do a little exploring. Everyone is looking forward to a full day in town tomorrow. It is such a quaint place with so much to see!
