Day 15: Polson, MT to Seattle, WA

After a tiresome day of whitewater rafting, it was a challenge for much of the group to wake up early this morning. Luckily they had plenty of time to catch up on sleep on the long bus ride from Polson to Seattle. But before leaving the KwaTaqNuk, we had breakfast with a stunningly beautiful sunrise view of Flathead Lake.

Today we traveled through Montana, Idaho, and then into Washington, all before lunchtime! We gained another hour as we crossed the Idaho state line and are now 3 hours behind home sweet home, North Carolina. We made two stops on our journey, one at a rest area that had free coffee and cookies and one in Ellensburg, Washington, for lunch.

Once we arrived in Seattle, we headed straight for the Museum of Pop Culture at City Center. The architecture of the building itself was pretty amazing and the exhibits were just as impressive. The museum had several different sections including science fiction, horror, fantasy, indie games and rock and roll. More specifically, they had special exhibits devoted to Star Trek, David Bowie, Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Henson, and the evolution of the guitar. There was also a sound room where visitors could play and record their own music. We've got some talented kids on our hands!

One of the favorite exhibits was a celebration of the Seattle Seahawks. It had the 2016 Super Bowl trophy and a Super Bowl ring! The ring had over 115 diamonds! The Museum definitely had something to offer everyone.

Our accommodation for the evening is Hotel Deca, a retro looking hotel with tons of character and an awesome view of the city. Everyone is eager for a good night's rest and is looking forward to an action packed day of exploring Seattle tomorrow!
