Day 30: San Antonio, Texas

It's been a pretty chill day today on the Grand Western Tour. Clarence drove us safely the entire 549 miles from El Paso to San Antonio. The group has done a pretty great job on the bus, watching movies like Bride Wars and Ghostbusters to help pass the time. We lost another hour today, putting us back in Central time, therefore when we stopped for a quick bite to eat for lunch, our body clocks didn't quite register "lunch time."

The crew was intrigued by the concept of everything being bigger in Texas, but so far, we've been unimpressed with the rest stops! The only thing we found remotely interesting was the giant wagon wheel pergola as we enjoyed an afternoon snack.

Twinning!

Arriving in San Antonio right at dinner time gave the group an opportunity to enjoy the city's famous Riverwalk District for some supper and shopping. Our lodging, The Menger Hotel, is conveniently located in the heart of downtown, directly across from the Alamo. This hotel is labeled as a Historic Hotel of America, but even more interesting is also its unofficial title of "The Most Haunted Hotel in Texas." Wish us luck tonight!
